The Complete Massage Foundation Course | Beginner Massage Training in Shipley, Bradford

Everything you need to start working as a massage therapist.

If you've been thinking about training in massage, this is where it begins. Not a taster session. Not a rushed overview. A proper, intensive two-day foundation that gives you the technique, the understanding, and the confidence to walk away ready to work.

This is the course I wish I'd had when I started. And it's the one I've built from the ground up to make sure every student leaves it knowing exactly what to do — and exactly what they're capable of.

Why Massage Matters — and Why Teaching It Is My Passion

I became a massage therapist because I experienced firsthand what skilled touch can do. It isn't just about relaxation. Massage helps people sleep, move without pain, recover from injury, manage stress, and feel at home in their own bodies again. Done well, it genuinely changes lives.

That's not something I say lightly. I've worked with chronic pain clients, post-surgery clients, people carrying years of tension they didn't even know was there. I've trained in India. I've studied fascia, the lymphatic system, the ways the body stores and releases what it's been through. And the more I've learned, the more certain I've become: this work matters.

Teaching it matters just as much. When I train someone properly, I'm not just giving them a skill — I'm giving them the ability to help people. That's why I do this. That's why I keep my groups small, stay hands-on all day, and don't stop until every student feels confident in what they're doing.

What Is the Complete Massage Foundation Course?

The Complete Massage Foundation is a two-day intensive beginner course based at my studio in Shipley, Bradford. No previous experience is needed. It's designed for complete beginners who want to learn massage properly and be ready to offer it professionally from the moment they finish.

Every hour in the studio is dedicated to hands-on practice. Theory and anatomy are completed in your own time at home between the two days, so we don't waste a single minute of our time together on anything other than actually doing the work.

You will leave ready to work. That's the standard I hold every training day to.

What You'll Learn

Over the two days, you'll cover everything needed to perform a full body massage treatment safely, confidently, and professionally:

  • Full body massage technique and sequencing

  • Anatomy and physiology relevant to massage therapy

  • The muscular system — key muscles, their function, and how they respond to touch

  • Correct body mechanics to protect yourself as a therapist over a long career

  • How to read and adapt to what the body is telling you

  • Contraindications, client consultation, and aftercare

  • Introduction to fascial awareness in massage

That last point is something I feel strongly about. Myofascial awareness is woven into the very first session — not because it makes things complicated, but because it makes everything you do more effective. Understanding fascia changes how you touch, how you listen, and how your clients respond. Even at beginner level, it matters.

This course focuses entirely on Swedish and full body massage foundations. Deep tissue work is covered in a separate specialist course — because it deserves its own proper training, not a rushed mention at the end of a foundation day.
